At times the sparks of joy transform into sadness. And everyone will talk while the memories begin to fade. Do all the songs burn up when the stage goes down in flames. or do they stay safe behind a shield?

Sometimes, even without going to bed I change all at once! Have you ever had that? Suddenly the power of knowledge and understanding strikes me and I wonder who I have been all that time up until that point.

This song is one I wanted to translate for a special person but I never got the chance. If I think back, this song is also the first flicker of the admiration and fixation I have with shooting stars and the many things they represent to me. Lastly, it taught me melancholy long before I had any life experience to warrant it a place in my heart.

It makes me proud to make “The Book of Sand” the first book I write about on my blog. I hope to not do it an injustice with the scantness of my words.
