Half moon cookie #

Dip it in milk
Swirl it ‘cross the stars
Throw astral projection sprinkles on top

A celestial dessert just for you
Your heavenly smile just for me

A half moon cookie
In a milky way filled cup
My heart waxes to full
Please eat it up

Where art thou my cookie monster?

I was on my way back to the USA from a trip to India because I had just been to an Indian Wedding.

I might be making this memory up because it’s been so long, but I was sitting in the plane, reflecting on the amazing events of the days I had just lived through. From the window of the plane I saw a clear blue horizon and above the horizon was the moon. It felt so close, as if the only thing separating us was the glass of the plane’s window.

The feel good vibes from the wedding had given me a sense of wanting to give my heart away to someone special again. I say again because some years before this India trip I had taken my heart back from someone special. How could I have known that taking your heart back from someone would be as tricky as giving it away?

With that renewed resolve to give my heart away again I transformed my reflection on the plane into this small tidbit of words you read above.

I’m still waiting to give my heart away and for someone to accept it. I know I’ve tried, but maybe I haven’t tried hard enough. Giving your heart to someone is simple, but somewhere along the way I make it trickier than it needs to be.
