On Friday, May 27, 2022 I was in Washington, DC and I had the great opportunity to see the musical “On Your Feet: The story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan”. “Coming out of the dark” is one of the most memorable songs from the musical for me. Unlike most songs, I don’t need to translate this one into English since it was written in both English and Spanish but after looking at the exact words more closely it does appear that there are some big differences in the lyrics near the end of both versions. Regardless, it’s interesting to see how they wrote the song in each language.
