Intro #
I had no idea but this song gained its fame as the ending credits song for Naruto. Naruto is an anime that I’ve never seen but that I do know of. Somehow I’ve never been drawn to it and so I need not discuss it any further than this mention of it.
Akeboshi #
The artist’s full name is Yoshio Akeboshi (明星嘉男) but he goes by Akeboshi and the song was in his debut album released June 22, 2005 according to the Wikipedias.
It amazes me that this type of music exists in the realm of anime, the realm of what is considered a cartoon. Yes, I’m sure Akeboshi has his fame independent of the anime but the takeaway for me is that there are things out there in the world that do not need us to know about them to exist.

Maybe this resonates with me because it is a life lesson I’ve come across in my life, one that others seem to have learned much faster than myself.
In my own words, being wise is overrated and is not something I should try to be immediately. Anyone that appears wise to me is not probably not wise, it’s just me thinking they are. Wait a bit to see if they truly are wise or if they have just been lucky enough to learn a few things before me.
Live life and do what I believe is right most of the time but also do the wrong thing to truly know what is right and wrong because my mind confounds me with fake perceptions and fears of what will never be.
Eventually, I’ll be wise…or at least I’ll be able to fool others into thinking I am. If I fool myself into thinking I’m wise than I’ve truly lost my way.
If I do it only the “right” way I’ll end up hating the way I’ve been and am because I’ll be stuck. Stuck in my idea of what was right for fear of venturing out into the wrong.
This reminds me of a Zen Parable I read.

Reflecting on the fear magnifies it. We might have been afraid of nothing at all, but our imagination gives it strength and darkens the threat until it’s so dark it feels solid.
I hate being a victim to my own imagination and yet it happens all the time. Why? Well, sometimes it’s right. It’d be easier if my imagination were wrong all the time and I could ignore it all the time. I’m still refining the ability to tell when my imagination is having fun with me so that I can ignore it.
